Insurance is one of the many professional languages spoken at Pertria. No one speaks this ubiquitous but often misunderstood language more fluently than Steven. A brokerage owner who loves his work more now than when he started twenty-five years ago, Steven is a master at demystifying risk management. He is often more informed about new products than his underwriters, he reads every contract, and always takes time to ensure there are no coverage gaps – or unnecessary overlaps. With “tech guru” as his unofficial office moniker, it appears that Steven also has a bit of a geek streak in him as well.
Steven the king of the castle
Steven likes to say he lives with a queen and two princesses. His wife Heather is his best friend as well as his true love. He says that spending time with her and their girls makes him the luckiest man alive. Steven really only has one speed – fully committed – a quality that applies to his athleticism and barbeque skills as well. When he is not creating a BBQ masterpiece in the backyard, you can often find Steven on a mountain bike, at the local training center working out or at his karate dojo honing his skills.

Founder Steven Durham designed LGS Insurance Services to deliver individual, custom-tailored risk management and insurance solutions to meet the distinctive needs of his clients. With a career spanning more than 25 years in the industry, Mr. Durham’s expertise is protecting private investment properties and personal and commercial liabilities. He and his team at LGS maintain in-depth knowledge and proficiency in providing family and business insurance.
A strong consumer advocate, Mr. Durham recognizes strategic implementation of risk management and insurance solutions to ensure proper protection as one of the most often overlooked components of any well-grounded investment strategy. His passion and commitment for protecting clients from unforeseen risk is contagious and has earned him an impeccable reputation for delivering exceptional customer service by putting the needs of his clients first.
Mr. Durham brings his abundance of industry knowledge, a keen eye for contract details and more than two decades of highly developed, trusted relationships with the most well respected property, casualty, life, and health insurance partners in the industry including Ace Private Risk Services, Aetna, Blue Shield, Chubb, Kaiser, Kemper, Lloyd’s of London, Safeco, The Hartford, and Travelers. Mr. Durham’s entrepreneurial mindset and client-focused attitude ensure his clients receive the most comprehensive insurance products and services available today—gaining the best possible protection at the most cost-effective price.
Mr. Durham began his career at Farmer’s Insurance as a claims representative and was soon on the fast track to becoming an agent. Licensed in 1990, Mr. Durham spent thirteen years as an agent with Farmer’s, before venturing beyond the obvious in 2005 to establish LGS Insurance Services.
Mr. Durham holds a long list of professional certifications and licenses, highlighting his commitment to professional development, and his insatiable desire to remain on the cutting edge of industry knowledge and trends.

When Mr. Durham is not taking care of his clients, he devotes his time to his wife, two daughters, and an active lifestyle. All are active members of the Y-Adventure Guides. Mr. Durham is also an avid mountain biker and can often be found riding the Los Gatos Mountain trails or cross-training at Courtside Club and FUSE Fitness.
